Julia “Jules” Morales is an actress from Houston, Texas who fell deeply in love with improv comedy. Before graduating at The American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York and Los Angeles in 2005, she studied Theatre Arts at the University of Houston in Texas before transferring to AMDA. In 2006, she became a diligent student of improv comedy in Houston with Massive Creativity, an improv troupe founded by MacArthur Antigua from The Second City. She performed on the Houston improv teams, “8 Speed Doll?, “Massive Ladies”, and “Spano’s Breakdown? and has performed in Austin and Chicago before moving to New York City.
In 2008, she became a Peoples Improv Theatre (PIT) student after winning one of three NBC Diversity Scholarships. After completing the required PIT classes, she auditioned for a PIT House Team and has performed with “Senator”, “The Whiskey Rebellion, and currently “Someday (The Cake). She currently performs on the indie teams, “Nobody’s Token” an all Black cast of talented comedians and improvisers, “Northcoast” a musical rap improv troupe, and “OJ in a Sippy Cup” a two-prov show with her best friend, Oscar Montoya. She also produces and directs the cast of “Mrs Jones an all Black female show of beautiful and talented comedians and actresses. She has also made regular guest appearances in “The Scene” and “Lucy.” In addition to performing, she coaches indie teams such as “Ladies and Gentleman” and “Suspicious Package.” She has also taught classes in the New York area and in Houston.
